Lorna qualified as a Chartered Surveyor in 2015, having worked in two of the 'big five' without sitting her APC.  The process simply didn't suit her strengths, being shy at interview and nervous about the outcome. Following a five-year training period, Lorna sat her APC with success first time around.

Having joined the RICS Matrics during her training period at CBRE, she developed her network and peer group of experts delivering training, before herself undertaking an informal role at CBRE Manchester offering assistance and training to graduates still going through the process.  Lorna found her passion in mentoring and supporting overs through developing their confidence with kindness, not pressure.

At the time Lorna founded Grove House, she knew that APC training and APC Assessing would form a proportion of her work-life balance, giving back to the profession and helping to develop talent that might otherwise be missed, simply because the process is not suited to all personality types and learning styles.  Lorna offers training which is motivational, enthusiastic but realistic. She will review submission documents as part of the training to ensure Q&A's are as realistic as possible.

Lorna now enjoys Assessing APC Interviews twice yearly for RICS and trains graduates for both companies and individuals on a weekly or monthly basis, using Teams to minimise disruption to her candidates' daily roles.

She is proud of all her successful candidates and will often even be the first phone call after assessment, to support and listen to the immediate aftermath.  Her trainee candidates to date have achieved 100% pass rate. 

We provide Valuation Training to a variety of candidates in firms such as Management specialists and Building Surveyors, where candidates need added structure or experience in particular areas for submission.
